PPTI is focused on developing bio-active medical devices that integrate biological and physical product components to provide for optimized clinical performance and patient outcomes. The Company’s technology is unique, based on a platform of biomaterials that are genetically engineered protein polymers with tailored physical structure and biological characteristics. The distinctive features and benefits of PPTI’s products based on these biomaterials address a variety of unmet market needs.

Because the development of medical products is an expensive and time consuming process, there is significant competition in the medical products field, and considerable pressure exists to control health care expenditures, PPTI is focusing the Company's resources on developing products that serve large markets, and that offer substantial value as compared with the existing standards of care and the known competition.

PPTI's current focus is the continued development and partnering efforts for Surgical Tissue Sealants (STS). STS is a two-component liquid formulation that spreads easily and sets quickly, effectively sealing surgical leaks in most tissue following would closure. Numerous potential partners have shown interest in this technology and PPTI is working toward establishing development and commercialization partnerships with each.
